To chants of "Bring them home!" presidential candidate U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, told his supporters on Jan. 10, that people around the country were joining his effort because of his foreign policy positions.
Paul said the "patriot individual liberty movement" was inspiring support to end the country's foreign entanglements overseas, and bring the country's money and young people home.
The candidate said that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan had already cost the country trillions in money, money that is now part of the national debt.
"I don't think we've been one bit safer for it," he said.
Paul said cutting foreign expenditures overseas would actually lead to a stronger defense department, to cheers in the hall in Manchester.
